Drone Footage and Aerial Imagery capturing Wests Carpark Construction Project

Drone Footage and Aerial Imagery capturing Wests Carpark Construction Project

Check out what can be seen and captured from the air, as you watch footage of Wests League Club Carpark Construction project using Drone technology.

Rotric Constructions was engaged under a Design & Construct contract to build additional carpark levels for a multi-deck carpark. The project included a new lift shaft and lift.

Completed over a timeframe of 10 months, approx. 1800m3 of concrete was installed.

A key deliverable was to ensure the carpark was fully operational whilst construction was in progress, with access maintained to both the club’s facilities and the home ground of West Tigers.

Thank you to all involved on this memorable project.

Rotric Constructions – Construction Management Experts

Is an Early Contractor Involvement approach the right choice for your project?

We’ve seen rapid growth in Construction Management projects with many of our clients realising that opting for Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) is giving them not only a competitive commercial edge and transparency, but also alleviating risk and allowing for a collaborative team structure in building relationships early on.

Making a decision on the best delivery model for your project depends on both your priorities and business goals, time commitment and the desire for your involvement in the process.

Early Contractor Engagement is progressively seen as an essential approach to the more traditional models – where contractors are brought into the process after key decisions have been made.

Opting for an Early Contractor Involvement approach creates a cohesive experience throughout the entire design and pre-construction process. It allows for head contractor input on the ‘buildability’ aspects and clear insight into the actual construction and cost associated with a preliminary design. It gives the contractor more time to thoroughly grasp the scope and details of the project and also provides valuable time for the owner, design team and contractor to develop a mutual understanding and trust prior to the start of construction. With improved teamwork, collaboration, innovation and thorough planning involved in this approach, project time and commercial outcomes are guaranteed.

Recent Projects delivered on this basis include Chatswood RSL Club First Floor Extension and Guildford Leagues Club Masterplan.

Advantages of Early Contractor Involvement

  1. Faster project delivery
  2. Financial transparency – in relation to all costs, particularly over trade/subcontractor pricing, therefore reducing risks, less intensive tendering process, precise cost estimation at early stages of the project
  3. Retain flexibility and accommodate value engineering, ensuring optimal project function whilst minimising costs
  4. Contractor input and expertise while the design is being developed
  5. Meticulous pre-construction planning in the development phase, providing greater opportunity to detect and address any issues early on mitigating risk
  6. Creates the best collaborative team structure and encourages innovation. As solid relationships are built early, it provides a better mutual understanding of the project vision and expected outcomes

Rotric Constructions is a forward thinking, family owned Construction company specialising in hospitality projects and we believe above all that experience matters. Opting for a Construction Management delivery model utilises our expertise and unique perspective. Allowing you to retain control of budgets, whilst working alongside us throughout the entirety of the project – guaranteeing cost effective project delivery, on time with exceptional quality.

Women in Construction – Night of Gratitude

Women in Construction - Night of Gratitude

Last night we joined other women in the design and construction industry at Cult Design, Sydney for a gratitude focused evening reflecting upon the year that has passed. Some fantastic topics were raised such as the impact of lighting and lighting design on our circadian rhythms, as well as gratitude exercises to practice personally and professionally.

Overall it was great to support WIDAC and help empower women alongside the wonderful men in our industry.

MOVEMBER MATTERS – Together we can make a change

MOVEMBER MATTERS - Together we can make a change

Stop men dying too young.

Rotric Constructions continues to take on the brave task of MOVEMBER, a charity established to raise awareness of men’s health issues, including mental health, prostate and testicular cancer, as well as suicide prevention.

As is found in Arthur Miller’s play Death of a Salesman ‘You can’t eat the orange and throw the peel away – a man is not a piece of fruit!’ We are passionate about helping raise vital awareness and support to all dads, brothers, sons and mates struggling evidently or not so evidently out there.

Last Friday night we joined forces with Chatswood RSL Club to support Movember, marking the end of a month long campaign and mo’s! For almost ten years running, ‘Team Rissole’ has raised close to half a million dollars.

Special thanks to Chatswood RSL Club, all event sponsors and MC for the night Panthers legend Royce Simmons.

To wrap up, on a lighter note – did you mo? In 1967, The Beatles included cardboard moustaches with their album Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.

R U OK? – Rotric Constructions ‘Mental Health Matters’ Initiative

R U OK? - Rotric Constructions 'Mental Health Matters' Initiative

Thursday 12th September 2019 marked R U OK day, a national day of action to promote meaningful conversation and remind everyone to ask your mates, colleagues and loved ones “Are you OK?”

According to an R U OK? national survey, nearly two thirds of Australians are not confident they know the signs that someone might be struggling with life’s ups and downs.

We, at Rotric Constructions as part of our ‘Mental Health Mattersinitiative, aim to carry on this campaign year round and remember that a conversation could change and save someone’s life.

Some tips to consider:

  • Ask R U OK?: start a conversation and be patient for their answer.
  • Listen with an open mind.
  • Encourage action and offer support.
  • Make time to check in.

Let’s make every day R U OK? day.

Rotric Constructions Bayview Hotel takes Finals Winner in Australian Hotels Association Awards

Rotric Constructions Bayview Hotel takes Finals Winner in Australian Hotels Association Award

Rotric Constructions revamped the existing Bayview Hotel for HAPS Hotels, an old favourite hotel amongst the likes of Cold Chisel and INXS. The finished product saw the hotel finishing up as a finals winner in the prestigious Australian Hotels Association Awards, marking itself as one of Sydney’s leading dining and live entertainment venues.

Working alongside H&E Architects, the firm that designed Chiswick Restaurant, Woollahra and China Doll, Woolloomooloo, we transformed the entire pub dining experience. The hotel now fronts an open kitchen, a sophisticated beer garden with a family friendly dining experience.

We continue to lead the way in the hospitality field, adding a diverse array of high quality, complex projects to our portfolio over the last several decades. We have worked with many renowned publicans and bar barons, with HAPS Hotels being one amongst this league.

Workies And The Ever Changing Hospitality Landscape

Workies And The Ever
Changing Hospitality Landscape

Rotric Constructions understands the innate needs of hospitality providers and the ever changing hospitality landscape. In collaboration with Curtin Architects, we assisted in diversifying the offerings of Lithgow Workmen’s Club. We aligned with the Club’s strategy to leverage upon their assets as a way to deliver a service to the community and the region as a prominent tourist destination.

We continue to be leaders in the hospitality space and understand the shift in restaurants, pubs, bars and clubs engaging in exploring new revenue streams whilst preserving traditional business operations.

The motel development at Lithgow Workmen’s Club had been widely reported in the media, with positive feedback as to the progress of the works undertaken by Rotric Constructions.

Faced with adverse weather conditions with severe snow downfall, our team of professionals managed to navigate these challenges and deliver the much anticipated project by the original timeframe.
