Lakeside Golf Club

Rotric Constructions was engaged to deliver the extension of Lakeside Golf Club, inclusive of new bistro. In line with quality measures, the sandstone was a select grade from Gosford quarries.

A complex element to the project included the structural steel support for the raked ceiling. Decor perforated plasterboard system was installed throughout the entire ceiling. The design allowed for rectangle perforations to be used in a continuous pattern to achieve a seamless and harmonious look. This system served as a noise absorber, creating the perfect acoustics to accommodate for the large seating area. Another complex element delivered included the additional support required for the lighting feature.

Due to the outbreak of Covid-19, health and safety measures on site were heightened. This required a reconfiguration of trades in order to limit the number of people on site as per government regulations. We managed to deliver the project successfully to meet the client’s satisfaction, within the agreed time frame.

Chatswood RSL Club Major Refurbishment

Rotric Constructions was engaged under a Construction Management contract to deliver the construction of a new bar, lounge and gaming area, TAB, outdoor gaming area, new stairs and amenities at Chatswood RSL Club. Works also included a roof opening to the new outdoor gaming area. We rose to the challenge to keep the club free from any rain or water damage prior to the installation of louvres through our detailed construction methodology. The construction of the void was completed prior to the removal of the roof opening. A temporary roof structure was also constructed upon removal of the roof opening.

The project was delivered in 4 stages. A key deliverable was to ensure there was no disruption to ongoing operations.

Towards the tail end of the Project, Covid-19 unfolded. We adapted to the current climate and client’s needs promptly. This saw a need to reconfigure the floor space to comply with social distancing measures.

We delivered this memorable project on time, within budget and to a high standard.

Wests Carpark Construction

Rotric Constructions was engaged under a Design & Construct contract to complete the construction of additional carpark levels for a multi-deck carpark at Wests League Club. The Project included a new lift shaft and new lift.

A key deliverable was to ensure the carpark was fully operational whilst construction was in progress. We installed approximately 1800m3 of concrete. Works tracked as planned, with our team utilising our structural expertise and technical capability to collaborate on a rather complex project.

It was a requirement to also ensure there was no disruption to those wanting to utilise both the club’s facilities and the home ground of West Tigers. Continuous access to the carpark was achieved throughout construction of the project with 0 safety incidents.

Bayview Hotel

Rotric Constructions was engaged by HAPS Hotels to bring their rebranding strategies to life in built form. This saw us partnering with Humphrey & Edwards Architects, the firm who designed China Doll and Matt Moran’s Chiswick restaurant. The Client wanted to create a fresh space with concrete walls and exposed pillars embodying a rustic industrial meets edgy brasserie feel with clean lines and bold features. A strong focus was placed on paying respect to the heritage qualities of the building.

A full refurbishment to the outdoor and indoor dining area, kitchen, club and bar was delivered. The design included opening up the entrance, new outdoor banquette seating, an open kitchen overlooking the outdoor dining space, bar and indoor dining, featuring vintage sporting posters and 1920s style artwork. The revitalised space features leather upholstery, copper accents and lush green pot plants throughout adding structure, colour and dimension to the venue. We completed the project on time, whilst keeping the premises operational at all times and maintaining continuous consultation with the venue, to ensure minimal noise levels were met.

LITHGOW WORKMEN’S CLUB DEVELOPMENT

Rotric Constructions was engaged by Curtin Architects to expand Lithgow Workmen’s Club’s offerings in the form of the construction of a new modern boutique 36 room motel and extensive refurbishment of the existing premises.

With the varying experiences offered by the geographical location, Lithgow Workmen’s Club sought to align with Lithgow as a brand destination by capitalising upon the Club’s strategic position. With the end product producing this award winning accommodation premises catering to the increasing demand of tourists. The internal refurbishment utilised high-end finishes to create a first class dining and entertainment space. This includes a new motel link walkway, auditorium, restaurant, kitchen, storage facilities, leisure areas and bathrooms. Landscaping and a new carpark was also constructed.

A challenge faced during the course of the project was inclement weather conditions, particularly the downfall of snow. Due to the impact on deliveries and procedure of works, Rotric Constructions ensured for proactive planning, methodology and logistics. Rotric Constructions also identified 2 existing power poles being within close proximity to the new proposed building footprint, therefore encroaching safe clearances. We communicated with and coordinated Endeavour Energy to relocate the power lines across the road; managing to maintain a safe working environment whilst successfully delivering the project by the projected timeframe.

AVONDALE HOTEL

Duggan Family Hotels engaged Rotric Constructions to refurbish and upgrade the Avondale Hotel, to raise the offering to meet that of the premium hospitality market.

The project consisted of the staged upgrade of both the ground and first floor. A key focus was to overcome the challenge of accessibility to the existing gaming area. We overcame this by relocating gaming to the ground floor and we installed a lift to improve accessibility. The existing bar and restaurant on the first floor was upgraded, with the addition of a new TAB and we also refreshed the building façade.

A luxe design aesthetic was incorporated throughout the hotel with elements of Feng Shui. Gold accents were emphasised throughout the premises from the stair rail plating to the front entry of the lift, with void suspended tube lighting and perforated ceiling features. We added texture to the space with contrasting polished tiles and composite stone.

We thrive on working in challenging environments and this project was particularly complex due to the existing building which required our design input on the structural support systems, in addition the requirement to keep the venue operational throughout the entire refurbishment, notably the gaming and bar areas. Deliveries also required more logistical planning due to the location of the venue with procedures for disposal of and pick up of materials and implementation of a staging plan so as to not impact any operations of the venue or public.

The intricate detailing of the design chosen for these projects, saw a need for attention to detail and quality craftsmanship. The reception refurbishment includes feature lighting, geometric tiling and joinery features. The supawood ceiling installed in the Auditorium, was a custom made feature which required much coordination and prior planning.

Rotric Constructions worked collaboratively with the Client to manage critical path phases of the works, from inception through to project completion.

From the New Japanese Kitchen and Sushi Bar, to the New Thai Restaurant featuring gold accents contrasted with raw, timber finishes. Other upgraded offerings include The New York Deli, which also features gold luxe finishes and contrasting chessboard tiling.

The level of finishes throughout is of high quality. Leather seating and added greenery with suspended pot plants were delivered as part of the sports lounge upgrade. The entrance was also given a fresh facelift.
