Emma is a true leader within the property industry. She has a sharp business acumen and great depth of knowledge within the corporate space.

Emma, what led you to the property and real estate industry?

My family have a large involvement with the property industry. I initially studied in the Health Science field however transitioned to a Bachelor of Business (Property). I found the course to be very dynamic and practical, which can be applied to all areas of the property industry.

As a manager of Office Leasing – Sydney CBD at Cushman and Wakefield, what ignites you most about your role?

The Cushman and Wakefield brand is steadily gaining momentum in the market, our team in particular stands out from all of our competitors with a dynamic team and fresh approach, delivering consistent results. I enjoy most of all that we have fun as a team.

Our team and company culture paired with our senior leadership have helped the team open more doors in 2018 generating more opportunities to deliver for our clients and tenants.

What office leasing and commercial real estate trends are you finding at the moment?

General business conditions are above average and employment growth is positive, this is translating into the majority of tenants requiring larger office space due to growth, however looking to capitalise on efficiencies and being smarter with the use of space.

Also, tenants are seeking office buildings which can provide flexible solutions such as third space providers.

What does the sustainable property and construction industry look like to you in the next decade?

I envision landlord and tenants working together to achieve industry standards and making more of a conscious effort to implement sustainable practices into the workplace. Furthermore, better facilities in the base building amenities to provide adequate recycling plants.
